About DarkBrain by DarkBrainComics About DarkBrain by DarkBrainComics
DarkBrain makes some kick ass art. If you can find our company website, you will find free galleries full of amazing art!

(I can't attribute who did this art - which are all people right here on dA including pencils, inks, colors, modeling, script and more - because I do not want dA to go ban them. Maybe after some clarification and assurance that their work will not be ripped down, I can credit them... I hope).

This shot is from an upcoming comic called God Play.

....and then da bans you for not giving proper credit.

Funny how they treat businesses who could be helping them by purchasing ad space, and subscriptions for their artists.

Oh, and they told me early in 2010 they didn't want my advertising money. My company was too "trashy" for dA's image. I was like... really? Ok, whatever. My plan was to spend considerably here, actually. So I spent that money on Project Wonderful instead. And, actually, that was a great thing for me. I ran over 20 million ads there.

I would like to ask them a question, a short question and it would be "Do you enjoy Game of Thrones?" if yes, then I can't see any reason why they wouldn't enjoy your comics since Game of Thrones has a formula of several nude scenes and a couple of sex scenes thrown into an episode.
Honestly though, I'd offer to write a few comics for your company for free just to piss off those morons in da, but even though my comic does have nude scenes, but I probably wouldn't do it because I have a block on writing sex scenes in my mind. I'm probably going to try to write some just to get rid of it, but I don't want to do it for comics that people pay for.

Game of Thrones and Spartacus are shows in the same vein, that's true! As for your personal writing, it is good to challenge yourself - you never know how far you can go until you try to go to far ;)

The irony is that HBO put in more sex scenes than there were in the A Song of Ice and Fire novels, so does that make them 'a trashy company'? If their answer after pointing that out is that they do a better job of writing it, the counterpoint would be to point out that Tyrion's entry into the series was just fine as written in the books and Littlefinger could have made his monologue without the lesbian sex scene.I'll give your writers the props they deserve with how well the plots are executed. A 'trashy company' wouldn't have been able to pull that off. I think that they're more likely to talk down to you if you're a small company while being total hypocrites when it comes to larger companies.
Thanks, and it's not just to push myself forward, it's more like being able to accept jobs that will have me do sex scenes.

So true. Facebook bans comic art heavily, but lets Playboy and Maxim have pages (huh?) I think there is a general prejudice against sensuality in media - but it is applied with more vigor in comics because they are deemed to be intended for children. Thankfully, movies and pay networks like HBO aren't limited in the same way. And you are correct that the lionshare of paying work for comics do not have sex scenes. In fact, very disproportionately less than movies.

Dynamite's A Game of Thrones comic adaptation is actually largely uncut on the sex and nudity, I was rather surprised at the pages where Daenerys has full frontal nudity and then leads to the sex scene. So, I think that Dynamite, Dark Horse, IDW and Image are changing the way people look at comics and that very soon the views of comics being just for kids will be considered outdated.
I don't really like Facebook, but I see how having a company page can help.

Interesting, maybe I'll check it out. Their Spartacus adaption was so stupid in how it avoided nudity at all costs, I lost complete faith in them.

In many ways, dA has a crisis of the soul. Are they are ART site or are they a ADVERTISING site? Sadly, you really can't be both very well. I think what they want is to be a "cutesy Facebook-like advertising site" and to be non-controversial in their art and have a clean public image. However, I think that ship sailed the minute they allowed artistic nudes here. I'm telling you, there is a strong segment of the "average population" who feel artistic nude - NO MATTER how tasteful - is porn. All of that kind of content is banned on Facebook, for example - every last one of them.
